Message from Sullivan High School Activities Director Sean Erwin
Welcome to Sullivan High School, interscholastic activities, and to the Eagle family. It’s a great day to be an Eagle!
It is with great pleasure that I come to Sullivan High School as Assistant Principal/Activities Director. At SHS, interscholastic athletics and activities are an extension of the classroom and the overall educational process. They provide valuable lessons for those involved. Teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, self-confidence, citizenship, and pride in community are all developed through active participation. These are all qualities that our community wants to see in today’s youth which ultimately helps to develop responsible adults and productive citizens.
In my brief time at SHS, I have seen the passion of students, staff, and community members for our athletes and their accomplishments. The very dedicated staff and student-athletes work hard to win, not only on the field, but in the classroom. The pride and support of the Sullivan community provides a great foundation for all of these things to happen. The activities department has experienced success in conference, district, and state competition over the years and it is my goal to move the athletics program forward and build on this success.
Our athletes, coaches, and staff will set high standards and strive for continuous improvement and success on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. SHS student-athletes will continue to strive to be model citizens and leaders both in and out of school. As a student athlete at Sullivan, we will take great pride not only in our success but also in our integrity and sportsmanship shown during competition. It is the activity department's expectation that students, staff, Eagle fans, and the community will also show great sportsmanship and respect to opponents while in the stands.
It is my hope that as we continue to grow and move forward as an activities department that all students, staff, and the community will continue to support our coaches, sponsors, and athletes. As we strive to improve on a daily basis, please feel free to share your input as we are always looking for ways to improve. With your continued help and support the experience of Sullivan Athletics and Activities will be rewarding for all. I look forward to seeing you all at Sullivan High School events.
