Welcome “Back to School” Sullivan Elementary School Families! Our school wide them for this year is “Courage to Take the Lead”. We all possess courage to go about our day to day business every single day. We encounter situations as individuals, as groups of people, and as families that require us to dig deep down and draw on our personal “courage”. Talking to someone new, forming new relationships, or even learning a new math concept all require us to draw on our “courage” to attempt a new opportunity or task and see what happens. Sullivan Elementary has the “Courage to Take the Lead” in the lives of our students academically.
The start of school is such an exciting time for our community; students, their families, and their teachers. We have been hard at work at Sullivan Elementary throughout the summer preparing for this school year. We have attended trainings, made changes in our procedures and instructional practices, and worked together to establish a caring, academically focused learning environment. I invite you as parents, guardians, and students to join the staff of Sullivan Elementary on this educational adventure and to have the “Courage to Take the Lead” not only throughout the 2011-12 school year, but throughout your lifetime. Together, we can establish a wonderful partnership and experience a year of tremendous success and growth.
The 2011-2012 school year is going to be filled with high expectations, a structured learning environment, fun PTO sponsored events, and new opportunities. I am excited to be a part of this experience, and look very forward to working with you to provide the best possible educational experience for the children of this wonderful community.
